more info The assessment of the qualifications it is on the committee. Candidates' attendace is NOT requested. The selection committee dispose of 120 scores: assessment of the qualifications max 60 scores oral exam max 60 scores Assessable qualifications: 1. Research proposal: max 40 scores. For the assessment of the research proposal the committee will take into account: novelty of the proposal and depth of analysis (max 10 scores), wide knowledge of the state of the art (max 10 scores), consistency, completeness and clarity of the proposal. Goals, and methodologies intended to be adopted and the results expected (max 10 scores). Relevance of the research proposal with the educational goals of the PhD in Civilizations of Asia and Africa as well as with the educational goals of the chosen curriculum (max 10 scores). 2. Learning Experiences: max 5 scores Advanced studies schools, specialization courses, masters, summer schools, scholarships. 3. Research Experiences and Scientific Publications: max 5 scores To the abstract, in Italian or in English, of the MA thesis will be assigned max 2 scores. (Only published texts or text already accepted for publication/proofs will be accepted) Type of publication Scores ISI publication (first author) / contribution in a congress 5 ISI publication (co-author) 2 Book or book chapter (author) 5 Book or book chapter (co- author) 2 4. Grade: max 5 scores. In the assessment of the CV the following scores are assigned to the MA thesis grade: Grade Scores 110 with honors 5 110 4 106-109 3 102- 105 2 99-101 1 For those students defending the MA thesis after the assessment of their qualification and before October 30th 2019, the grade point average will be taken into account as follows: Grade point average Scores 29 - 30 5 28 – 28.99 4 27 - 27.99 3 26 - 26.99 2 25 - 25.99 1 < 25 0 5. CV: max 5 scores The candidate who earns 40/60 scores for the assessment of qualification is admitted to the oral exam.
