Registro Italiano delle Protesi Impiantabili (RIPI): utilizzo di metodologie statistiche per la valutazione dell’esito degli interventi e dell’efficacia dei dispositivi impiantati
L’attività di ricerca riguarderà la gestione e l’analisi di big data raccolti nel Registro Italiano delle Protesi Impiantabili (RIPI), che considera al suo interno dati provenienti dalle ospedalizzazioni in cui vengono impiantate protesi ortopediche, pacemaker, defibrillatori, dispositivi spinali e valvole cardiache. La finalità è l’implementazione di modelli statistici inerenti a: 1. analisi della sopravvivenza; 2. tecniche di classificazione per la definizione dei fattori che più comunemente portano al fallimento dei dispositivi; 3. imputazione di dati mancanti; 4. creazione di metriche di valutazione di efficacia dei dispositivi.

- Study and implementation of statistical models for the analysis of registry data
The research will be focused on management and analysis of big data collecting information about implanted medical devices, such as joint prostheses, pacemakers, implantable cardio defibrillators, spinal devices and heart valves. The aim is the implementation of statistical models for: 1. survival analysis; 2. classification techniques for defining the most frequent causes of implants failures; 3. imputation of missing data; 4. development of evaluation metrics for devices effectiveness.

Admission Procedure

Qualifications assessment The evaluation of qualifications is made by the Selection Committee. Each candidate will receive a score; the maximal score per candidate is 60 (sixty) points. To gain admission to the oral test, candidates must reach a minimum score of 40/60 (forty/sixty).

Oral interview In order to pass the oral exam and be considered eligible for the competition, a minimum score of 40/60 (forty/sixty) is required. The oral exam is composed by:
1. Discussion of the summary of the Master thesis or the research project presented (0-30 points);
2. Discussion on basic topics related to the chosen curriculum, publications and other titles and qualifications presented (0-30 points);
3. Test of foreign language.
