- Study and design of information systems in Public Health: how to interconnect information systems and national and international databases to implement implantable medical devices registries
The research activity will be related to the study and selection of possible architectures to be used in the design of the new information system for the Italian Implantable Prostheses Registry data collection. Aims of the registry are the traceability of every implanted device and the assessment of its performance, intended as device “in vivo” survival. This assessment is performed by comparative analyses of different devices taking into account their specific technical characteristics. To do this it is essential to interface the Italian registry with other international databases where medical devices technical data are stored following a detailed taxonomy. Since data collection refer to personal health data, the developed architectures must satisfy the informatics security requirements.
