Bees, through their crucial role in ecosystems, embody a multispecies presence that intertwines nature, culture, and urban space. This seminar investigates the transformative and caring work of beekeepers in urban and rural territories, exploring the link between beekeeping and ecological regeneration. Through the experiences of Alessia Balucanti, a professional beekeeper; Erica Mayr, an urban beekeeper at Villa Massimo; and Barbara Bonomi Romagnoli, a writer and author of Bee Happy, we will reflect on how beekeeping not only preserves biodiversity but also transforms our way of inhabiting territories, creating interspecies relationships capable of challenging the boundaries between human and non-human.
