Research:
Zahra Lahijanian, a skilled and motivated individual with a comprehensive educational background and substantial experience in transportation and traffic engineering, is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Transportation at the Department of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering at Sapienza University. She completed her master’s degree in Transportation Systems Engineering at Sapienza University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Shiraz University, Iran.
In her current academic work, she focuses on developing and implementing calibration methods for macroscopic and mesoscopic traffic models using metaheuristic optimization algorithms. She is proficient in mobility pattern analysis and the application of machine learning techniques, and she demonstrates expertise in handling noisy data and integrating various data sources. Additionally, she is experienced in evaluating the effectiveness of traffic control strategies, particularly with speed limits and sensor data.
Beyond her technical skills, Zahra is an effective communicator and currently serves as the Representative of Ph.D. Students on the Council of the Department of Civil, Constructional, and Environmental Engineering at Sapienza University.
