Research: Far East Shakespeare: Rewriting, Adaptations, and Performance in Modern China
Yuhan Zhu is a PhD student enrolled in the programme in English Literatures, Cultures, Language, and Translation at the Sapienza University of Rome. In 2025, she obtained a Master’s degree in English language and literature at Renmin University of China. Her research project examines the reception and adaptations of Shakespeare in East Asian context, with a particular focus on mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Her research interests include adaptation studies, postcolonial studies and intercultural theatre.
