Associate Professor of Banking and Finance at the Department of Management, Faculty of Economics, Sapienza University of Rome, where she teaches Banking and Finance and Artificial Intelligence in Banking and Finance (in English) in the Master's Degree in Finance. Qualified for the role of Full Professor since 2023. She is a member of the Board of Professors of the PhD Program in Management, Banking and Commodity Sciences and Contact person for the Erasmus mobility EU agreement between ICADE, Comillas Pontifical University of Madrid and the Faculty of Economics of Sapienza University of Rome.
Her main research areas concern banking risk management and corporate governance, sustainability and ESG, financial regulation, and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to finance. She has received several scientific awards, including Best Paper Awards and the Minerva Prize for scientific research.
Associate Editor of the top-tier international scientific journal Finance Research Letters and member of the Editorial Board of numerous international journals including Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management and Finance Research Open. Author of numerous scientific publications in top-tier international journals (including International Review of Financial Analysis, Information Sciences, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of International Financial Management & Accounting).
She is also a member of the Scientific Committee of the Consob-Sapienza seminar series "New Frontiers in Financial Markets and Regulation" and Program Chair of the international conference New Frontiers in Banking and Capital Markets, promoted in collaboration with the European Commission – Joint Research Centre, awarded the Medal of Representation of the President of the Republic.
Since 2018, Coordinator and member of Technical Committees for AIFIRM (Italian Association of Financial Industry Risk Managers). She is a member of national and international scientific associations (ADEIMF, AIDEA, AIFIRM, ECGI, EFA, ENIA – National Institute for Artificial Intelligence).
