RESEARCH ACTIVITY
My main research interest is the study of learning and memory processes, with a focus on the consolidation of memory for emotional events.
My research activity has been carried out in a translational perspective both in animal models and humans. My research has contributed to the knowledge in the field of the intracellular signaling underlying learning and memory processes, as well as the role of adult neurogenesis in spatial and emotional memory. Recent studies have also investigated the role of emotional and social factors in long-term memory formation both in healthy individuals or people suffering from mental disorders.
