She started her research in neuropsychology and rehabilitation participating in research projects on attentional disorders and unilateral spatial neglect in brain damaged patients. During the PhD period her research also included the study of the neural basis of cerebral plasticity and its implications in the rehabilitation of patients affected by stroke, or traumatic brain injury. Subsequently, the research themes have extended to social neuropsychology
and include the biological correlates of body and face visual perception and action discrimination and to their specific disorders after lesions of the central and peripheral nervous system.
She coordinates a research lab at the University of Verona (NPSY.Lab-VR, http://profs.formazione.univr.it/npsy-labvr/) . Activity concerns body, space and action representations in healthy subjects and patients with neurological diseases and chronic pain. She is the coordinator of the European Platform for Research in Spinal Cord Injury (SCI-Research. Group, http://profs.formazione.univr.it/npsy-labvr/spinal-cord-injury-research-center/). Furthermore, her research focuses on the deficits of social interactions, awareness and decision making in neurological diseases, like stroke and mental deterioration.
She has also been highly engaged in disseminating her research to the general public.
