EDUCATION

Joint Ph.D. Student in Psychology and Social Neuroscience 01/2020 – Present
City, University of London and Sapienza, Rome.
The research focuses on the modulation of top-down inhibitory processes of cognitive control perceiving body-related stimuli following embodied and grounded theories of cognition. Using behavioural and electrophysiological data (EEG). 3-year scholarship by City and Sapienza.

Master of Science – Cognitive Psychology and Neuropsychology 09/2016 – 07/2018
University of Florence, Italy; Full marks: 110/110 cum Laude
Experimental thesis on the role of awareness on top-down cognitive control

Master course in Learning and Teaching Assessment 10/2020 – 02/2021
City, University of London; Pass with merit.

Associate Fellow (AFHEA) - UK Professional Standard framework for teaching 05/21 - Present

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Graduate Research Assistant 09/2019 - 01/2020
Department of Psychology, Goldsmiths University of London, UK
Conducted a literature review and analysed data on the effect of suggestions on perception.

Graduate Research Assistant 02/2019 - 09/2019
Department of NEUROFARBA, University of Florence, Italy
Designed experiments and analysed data on proactive and reactive components of inhibitory control. Collected data using EEG. Produced a meta-analysis on the neural representation of cognitive control. Administered neuropsychological tests for a clinical study.

Internships - Erasmus Student
University of Amsterdam, 6 months, The Netherlands, 09/2017 – 02/2018
Designed experiment and analysed data about the role of awareness on cognitive control.
University of Balearic Islands, 10 months, Spain, 09/2015 – 06/2016
Collaborated with two research groups designing experiments, collecting and analysing data regarding the effect of mindfulness on heart-rate variability using ECG and the role of stimulus features on the aesthetic appreciation.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Graduate Teaching Assistant 03/2020 – Present
City, University of London
2020: Psychometric lab; Research design and analysis. 2 hours fortnightly, workshop sessions, 15 students per seminar.
2021: Research design and analysis; SPSS lab. 3 hours fortnightly, workshop session, 15 students per seminar.
Responsible for marking the final assignment of each course. Very positive feedback from lecturers regarding my ability to engage with the students, being supportive and provide constructive feedback.

External Consultant – Teaching 03/2021 – 05/2021
Associazione Rondine Cittadella della Pace, Arezzo, Italy
Teaching elements of psychology and neuroscience, the association gathers international university students from countries at war and provide university level education.
