Stefano Ruzza is Associate Professor of Political Science and Vice-President of the Master Degree in International Relations at University of Turin, where he teaches Peace and Conflict Studies and Political Science. He is also a regular guest lecturer in several Italian military institutions (Training Command and Application School of the Army; Post-Conflict Operations Study Centre of the Army; Institute of Maritime Military Studies of the Navy). A PhD in Strategic Studies, Dr. Ruzza is co-founder of T.wai–Torino World Affairs Institute, where he directs the “Violence and Security” research program, and an associate of LSE Ideas. His research interests focus on private military and security companies (PMSCs), security governance, conflict transformation in Uganda and Myanmar (having conducted fieldwork in both countries), and on Myanmar’s political transition. On his research topics, Dr. Ruzza has authored, co-authored or edited more than 30 scholarly publications, including three monographs and several articles published on internationally renowned peer-reviewed journals, and has performed contracted research for Italian MoD research institutions (Strategic Studies Military Centre – CEMISS; Defense and Analysis Research Institute – IRAD). Some of his content has been hosted on national and international media such as ADN Kronos, Radio24, La Stampa, Il Sole 24 Ore, Radio3, Tv2000 and Indus News (Pakistan).
