Graduated in Chemistry with honour (1991) he received his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Science in 1995. Assistant professor since december 1996 he is Associate Professor (since march 2019) and belongs to the Department of Basic and Applied Science for Engineering (S.B.A.I.) (Chemical section “Paolo Silvestroni”) of the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering of Sapienza University of Rome.

He is author of more than 140 papers published in international peer-reviewed journals and more than 100 contribution to national and international congresses devoted to the development of thermal analysis in the fields of environment, pharmaceutical, food and cultural heritage (being them the most important ones) with particular reference to kinetic and thermodynamic study of chemical and phase change processes. His papers provided over 2300 citations, Hirsch index=29 (source Scopus, September 2022).

Since 2020 he is Co-Chairperson of the International Scientific Committee of “Thermodynamics & Thermochemistry” of ICTAC, International Confederation of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (http://www.ictac.org/scientific_commission.html).

He was Chairman del XXXIV National Congress on Calorimetry, Thermal Analysis and Applied Thermodynamics, hold in Rome from 5th to 8th june 2012, and the CEEC-TAC5 & Medicta2019 international congress held in Rome from 27 to 30 August 2019, with over 400 participants from all over the world.

He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (Springer) and he is member of the Editorial Board of Thermochimica Acta (Elsevier).
