Sonia Di Loreto is Associate Professor of American Literature at the University of Torino (Italy), where she teaches courses in the fields of early American literature, nineteenth century American literature, African American literature and transatlantic print culture. She has published widely in journals on topics from archives and the Digital Humanities, epistolarity and transatlantic relations, nineteenth century American Literature, "blue humanities" and maritime literature. Her current research focuses on Margaret Fuller’s transnational network, and her book, tentatively titled Nations of the Future: Correspondences, Networks, Media in the U.S. and Europe, 1830-60 aims at reconstructing the network of communication – especially periodical publications—that Margaret Fuller established and maintained in Italy and Europe. She is also working on a book project on shipwrecks and maritime forms of abandonment and recovery. She is general editor (with Leslie Eckel and Andrew Taylor) of  The Collected Writings of Margaret Fuller (8 volumus) for Edinburgh University Press. She serves on the editorial board of Acoma, Rivista Internazionale di Studi Nordamericani, Anglistica AION, and América Crítica.
