She was born in Rome, Italy.
She obtained a Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Rome "Sapienza" in 1990.
She obtained Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Rome in 1993.
In 1995, she joined the Department of Astronautical, Electrical, and Energy Engineering (formerly the Department of Electrical Engineering) at the University of Rome "Sapienza" as a tenured Researcher in the field of Electrical and Electronic Measurements.
From 1999 to 2011, she was a member of the Ph.D. Program in "Electrical Engineering."
From 2012 to 2013, she was a member of the Ph.D. Program in "Materials Engineering and Complex Industrial Systems."
From 2016 to 2017, she was a member the Ph.D. Program in "Sciences and Technologies for Complex Systems."
Since January 2006, she has been the head of the Methods and Instruments Laboratory at the DIAEE of the University of Rome "Sapienza."
Since January 6, 2016, she has been the Referee of the Quality Assurance Commission (AQ) of the Area Council in Electrical Engineering for the L-9 and LM28 degrees at the University of Rome "Sapienza."
In 2017, she participated in and won the selection procedure for the allocation to professors and researchers of the University of Rome "Sapienza" of the one-off incentive (reward) for the year 2017 as per Law no. 240 of December 30, 2010, and, in particular, Art. 9 and ss.mm.ii., according to criteria of academic and scientific merit.
In 2019, she was a member of the Organizing Committee of the ICDL2019 Conference in Rome.
In October 2019, she gave a lecture on "The digital measurements on the MV electrical network during switching operation" as part of the bilateral/Erasmus+ Interinstitutional Mobility of Teaching Staff agreement between the Warsaw University of Technology and the University of Rome "Sapienza."
Since the academic year 2019-2020, she has been teaching the Power Quality Lab course (ING-INF/07), included in the didactic plan of the Ph.D. course in ENGINEERING AND APPLIED SCIENCE FOR ENERGY AND INDUSTRY.
In 2020, she chaired the 2020 Special Session IEEE International Workshop on Metrology for Industry 4.0 & Iot: The Industry 4.0 Paradigm for Energy Efficiency Measurements, Techniques, Methodologies, Strategies, and Requirements (June 3-5, 2020).
She is a Referee for the international journals: MDPI-Sensors and MDPI-Energies.
Since 2021, she has been a member of the Editorial Team of Acta IMEKO (the open-access journal of the International Measurement Confederation – IMEKO).
In 2021, she received the BEST PAPER PRESENTED BY A WOMAN award - 3rd CLASSIFIED- at the 2021 IEEE INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON Metrology for Automotive VIRTUAL CONFERENCE / 1-2 JULY, 2021 with the publication: L. Ferrigno, M. Laracca, A. Martucci, G. Miele, S. Sangiovanni - "ANALYSIS OF THE UNCERTAINTY CONTRIBUTIONS FOR ON BOARD VEHICLE SPEED METERS CALIBRATION METHOD".
In 2022, she won the grant from the Lazio Region: "Premial Contributions for Researchers and Research Fellows to Strengthen their Professional Condition and Enhance the Lazio Research System" European Social Fund Plus Program (FSE+) 2021- 2027 - Policy Objective 4 "A More Social Europe" - Regulation (EU) No. 2021/1060 - Regulation (EU) No. 1057/2021.
In the period 2022-2023, she was a Guest Editor of the Special Issue: "Energy Transition, Advanced Sensors, and Techniques for Measurement on Electrical Power Grid" for the journal Sensors - Open Access Journal by MDPI.
In the period 2022-2023, she was a Guest Editor of the Special Issue: "Current Research and Future Development for Wearable Measurement Sensors" for the journal Sensors - Open Access Journal by MDPI.
Since 1999, she has taught various courses in the field of Electrical and Electronic Measurements for the Bachelor's Degree programs in Electronic Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Audiometric Techniques, and Audioprosthetic Techniques, for the Master's Degree programs in Electrical Engineering and Energy Engineering, and for the Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and Electrical Energy Engineering.
Since June 1991, she has been conducting her scientific activities collaborating with Italian and foreign research groups. In this context, and with particular regard to the topics of the competition sector 09/E4 - Electrical and Electronic Measurements, she collaborates on research activities related to funded projects, research contracts from private institutions, research contracts from companies, and, finally, research activities not related to specific funding sources.
The main topics she deals with concern intelligent data acquisition systems, quality in electrical systems, and measurements on humans.
She is co-author of 81 publications, including 18 in national and international journals and 63 in national and international conference proceedings.
In 1998, she participated in the PRIN 1998 project funded under the title: "Study and characterization of a numerical power measurement station on electrical systems with deformed waveforms." Scientific coordinator Prof. Mario Savino (Polytechnic University of Bari) - Scientific manager Prof. Ennio Zappitelli (University of Rome "La Sapienza") - Protocol 9809482782_005 Area 09 - Duration 24 months.
In 2001, she participated in the PRIN 2001 project funded under the title: "EMC CLASSIFICATION OF THE ENVIRONMENTS OF A HOSPITAL STRUCTURE FOR THE REDUCTION OF RISK TO THE PATIENT". Scientific coordinator and Scientific manager Prof. Saverio Cristina (University of Rome "La Sapienza") - Protocol 2001091491_001 Area 09 - Duration 12 months.
In 2017, she participated in the research project "Development of a portable system for plethysmography and impedance spectroscopy" funded by the University of Rome "Sapienza" - Responsible Pisa Stefano.
In 2019, she participated in the research project "Development of an innovative methodology for monitoring and evaluating human eye radiation exposure" funded by the University of Rome "Sapienza" - Responsible Bisegna Fabio.
In 2021, she participated in the technical/scientific activities of the Rome Sapienza Research Group of the research contract between the company METERING RESEARCH srl and the DIAEE for the development of procedures for the quality management of processes and measuring instrumentation of the Acoustic Laboratory in accordance with the UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard to ensure the optimization of resources and processes through a risk-based approach.
In 2021, she participated in the technical/scientific activities of the Rome Sapienza Research Group of the research contract between the Interuniversity Consortium MESE and the DIAEE for the development of technical and managerial.
