Research: A cross-cultural study of refusals to invitations and last-minute cancellations in Italian, European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese

My research project investigates refusals to invitations and last-minute cancellations in Italian, European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese. The aim is to collect and compare three different corpora in order to analyse contrastively the realization and perception of these speech acts by native speakers in relation to politeness strategies.
