Dr. Sandrine Pavoine is full professor at the French National Museum of Natural History in Paris. She specializes in community ecology, focusing on biodiversity measures and the use of phylogenetic and functional diversity to understand ecosystem dynamics.



Pavoine's research is highly quantitative, utilizing statistical and mathematical models to analyze ecological data. Her work often involves developing new metrics to assess biodiversity, moving beyond traditional species counts to incorporate the evolutionary history and functional traits of organisms. She has co-authored numerous influential papers in high-standard scientific journals.



She is also an associate editor for the journal Ecology and Diversity. Her contributions have significantly advanced the field of biodiversity science, providing new tools and perspectives for conservation and ecological research.
