Thesis title: Cosa (non) è stato il «sistema che non c'è: 93». Storia e testi del Gruppo 93
This thesis proposes a reconstruction of the experience of Gruppo 93 (1989-1993), a fundamental and problematic transition point between 20th-century literary production and that of the 2000s, involving numerous poets and critics united – not without difficulty – by the need to present a united front against the lyrical status quo established since the 1970s. The structural organisation of the work proceeds according to the operational duality of the phenomenon in question, separating theoretical reflection and textual elaboration respectively. Chapter 1, entitled Introduzione. Prodromi, fondazione, dibattito e scioglimento del Gruppo 93 (1975-1993), chronologically traces the history of Gruppo 93, from its allegorical-materialistic palingenetic background (1975-1989) to the actual birth of the group (1989), to its planned epilogue (1993), and is summarised in conclusion (1.14) by an hourglass-shaped diagram that graphically reproduces the various stages of the debate previously analysed. Chapter 2, entitled I testi poetici del Gruppo 93. Edizione critica commentata, offers a critical edition with commentary on the works produced by the authors of Gruppo 93, selected from the anthology of the same name (Gruppo 93, edited by Anna Grazia D'Oria, Lecce, Manni, 1993) and treated on the basis of the principles set out in the Nota ai testi (2.1). These two main chapters are followed by a third, which contains interviews with former members of the Group, useful in retrospect to substantiate the historiographical discussion of the first chapter and the hermeneutic-philological analyses of the second.
