Research:
Salvatore Gagliardi obtained a Bachelor's Degree in History with honors in 2021 at the University of Naples "Federico II" with a thesis in History of Christianity and Churches entitled: "Boniface VIII e l'uso dell'eresia nell'affaire Saisset" with supervisor Prof. Luca Arcari. In February 2024 he obtained a Master Degree with honors in Historical Sciences, Medieval and Renaissance curriculum, again at the University of Naples "Federico II" with a thesis in History of Medieval Christianity supervised by Prof. Luca Arcari as supervisor and Prof. Pasquale Palmieri as co-supervisor, entitled: "Stregoneria, sabba, pratiche di contatto con il sovrannaturale. Il dibattito storiografico antecedente e successivo a 'Storia notturna' di Carlo Ginzburg". In February 2024 he published a short article for the magazine Diacritica entitled: "Il cristianesimo come difesa della libertà. Un’interpretazione critica del saggio «Perché non possiamo non dirci “cristiani”» di Benedetto Croce". He is currently a PhD student in History and Cultures of Europe, XL cycle, at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" with a project focused on the diffusion of the demonological and witchcraft doctrine of the "Malleus maleficarum" in the Italian inquisitorial and Dominican context, with a particular focus on Bartolomeo Spina.
