Research: Modality in Medieval Philosophy

My research interests concern the history of the Medieval Philosophy, especially theconcepts of the modality, namely " possible" and "contingency", "necessity", etc. As it is known, as for this tema, the thought of Duns Scotus is considered one of the most important because of the concept of synchronic contingency he introduced. The goal of the research is mainly to enlighten the metaphysical state of the "the possible" from the ontological point of view, meaning its dependence or independence from God. This means questioning the validity of the concept of possible without the presupposition of the science and the power of God. To solve this problem it would be necessary to analyze the texts of Duns Scot on the intellect and the power and to reconstruct the process of the conceptual constitution of the "the possible".
