Romina Oliva earned her PhD in Chemistry in 2002, at University of Napoli “Federico II”, working in the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Modelling laboratory directed by Prof. Paolillo. She was then a post-doc for four years, 2003-2006, at the University of Roma “La Sapienza”, in the group directed by Prof. Anna Tramontano. In the same period she was a Contract Professor of Bioinformatics at the Universities of Perugia and Napoli - “Federico II”. In 2006 she joined the University of Napoli "Parthenope", Italy, as Assistant Professor of Chemistry. In the summers 2007 and 2009 she has been visiting scientist at the European Institute of Bioinformatics (EBI, Cambridge-UK), in the group directed by Prof. Janet Thornton. Between 2014 and 2019 she has spent several research stays as visiting/sabbatical scientist at the Computational Bioscience Research Center of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST, Thuwal - Saudi Arabia). Since February 2022 she is Associate Professor of Chemistry at the Department of Sciences and Technologies, University of Napoli "Parthenope", where she is lecturer of Chemistry for the Biological Sciences degree course and of Bioinformatics for the MS in Biology for Sustainability.
