Research: Evaluation of the hydrogen storage potential of depleted reservoirs of Italy

Always fascinated by the Earth Sciences, I achieved the bachelor’s degree in 2016 and the magistral degree with honors in 2020, both at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". During my studies I worked in the field of tourism, learning to relate with people from other cultures and perspectives, and with the project of magistral thesis I had the opportunity to apply what I studied and to refine the knowledge I gathered. After graduation, thanks to the support of the staff of the Tectonics and Fluid Chemistry Laboratory (TFC Lab) of DST-Sapienza, I worked on some projects in Abruzzo and Basilicata, specializing in the field of geochemistry and in particular in the sampling and analysis of soil gases, using highly specialized tools. I am currently engaged in the PhD project, which consists of an "evaluation of the hydrogen storage potential of depleted reservoirs of Italy" aimed at the creation of a preliminary atlas of UHS- (Underground Hydrogen Storage) capable sites in Italy and the detailed study of one of them. This project, innovative for our territory, is supported by the European Union and is part of an important transition to a more sustainable energy system.
