Rani Mandelbaum is an urban planner and a PhD candidate at Tel Aviv University (Israel) and Sapienza University of Rome (Italy). She holds a BA (2012) and MA (2014) from The Department of Geography and Environmental Development in Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. Between 2014 to 2021 she worked as a planning practitioner in the Israeli public sector. Her PhD research, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Talia Margalit (TAU) and Prof. Barbara Pizzo (Sapienza), explores how crisis discourses are shaping urban space.
