Rafał Borysławski è professore associato presso l'Istituto di Studi Letterari dell'Università della Silesia (Polonia, e le sue ricerche si concentrano principalmente sulla cultura e la letteratura inglese antica e sulle questioni della cultura medievale associate al campo della storia sociale.

Ha pubblicato un libro sull'idea di enigmaticità nella letteratura inglese antica e più di cinquanta articoli che discutono argomenti dedicati alle prospettive filosofiche e culturali dell'inglese antico, ai romanzi e ai fabliaux dell'inglese medio, alla letteratura francese antica e alla cultura visiva.

Ha anche coeditato diversi volumi di studi legati agli studi medievali e alle intersezioni tra storia, storiografia e filologia.

Rafał Borysławski è anche coautore di un progetto che ha portato a un libro di sua poesia e computer art ispirata alla cultura medievale.

È membro della ISSEME (International Society for the Study of Early Medieval England), e ha tenuto conferenze presso le Università di Oslo, Reykjavik, Tarragona, Vilnius, Varsavia e York St. Tra il 2014 e il 2017 e dal 2020 ha coordinato un programma di scambio internazionale per studenti e studiosi che desiderano studiare in Scandinavia e Polonia, e è supervisore di H/Story (gruppo di ricerca dottorale che esplora le interdipendenze tra studi letterari e filologici).
