Peter Agstner



Law degree (JSD) from the Catholic University Milan (2005), mark 110/110 cum laude, with a research period at the Max-Planck-Institut für Immaterialgüter- und Wettbewerbsrecht, Munich. PhD in domestic and international commercial law (1st place in the admission examination; PhD thesis discussion 2011), with research period at Yale Law School, CT-USA. Research fellow at the Università Cattolica S.C., Piacenza; then at the Free University of Bolzano. Senior research fellow (Wissenschaftlicher Referent) at the Max-Planck-Institut für ausländisches und internationales Privatrecht, Hamburg. Fixed-term researcher type A and currently type B at the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano. Winner of the Gian Franco Campobasso Prize for the best Ph.D. thesis in commercial or banking law (2013). Achievement of the ASN to the functions of professor of the 2nd rank for the competitive sector 12/B1, commercial law (2017). Winner of several scholarships for research stays abroad (DAAD and Max-Planck-Gesellschaft). Several research stays as visiting researcher at the University of Cambridge, Ludwig-Maximilian Universität Munich and Philipps-Universität Marburg.
