The doctoral scholarship may be increased by 50% during periods of study or research abroad, provided that these periods are authorized in advance by the PhD Program Coordinator and documented by the host institution. The increase may be granted for a maximum of 12 months.
Before departure, the request for authorization for the study or research period abroad must be submitted through InfoStud. Upon return, in order to obtain payment of the increase, it is necessary to upload to the platform only the certificate issued by the host institution or university, on official letterhead and signed, indicating the exact period spent abroad.
If the stay abroad lasts more than one month, the request may be submitted month by month, each time attaching the certificate relating to the specific period completed.
The increase is granted to PhD candidates with a scholarship for as long as they are receiving that scholarship; for PhD candidates without a scholarship from the 38th cycle onward, it applies for the entire three-year period. It is not granted for the period between the end of the three-year PhD program, even if extended, and the date of the final thesis defense.
This benefit is compatible with and may be combined with other scholarships or funding granted by national and foreign institutions, including the MUR Youth Fund.
