Research: Philosophy and Pedagogy in Antonio Gramsci’s Thought

The research examines the relationship between philosophy and pedagogy in Antonio Gramsci’s thought, showing that in Gramsci pedagogy does not exist as an autonomous discipline but as part of the philosophy of praxis, which conceives human formation as a historical-political process embedded in social relations of force. Through a historical-philological reconstruction and a philosophical-theoretical reading of the "Prison Notebooks", the thesis investigates key concepts such as hegemony, translatability, common sense, and intellectuals, interpreting the educational relationship as a structural dimension of political action. The study places Italian Gramscian scholarship in dialogue with contemporary critical pedagogy and highlights the present relevance of Gramsci’s thought for understanding and transforming educational processes in neoliberal societies.
