Petr Kopecký graduated in History in 2016 from the University of Palacký in Olomouc in the Czech Republic. Since 2016 he is a postgraduate student at the same University (Doctorate in Czech History), since 2017 in the form of joint thesis supervision also at the Sapienza–University of Rome (Doctorate in History of Europe). The focus of his research project is to analyze and to understand the mechanisms of the diplomacy of the Holy See and its perception of the political and religious situation in the First and the Second Czechoslovak Republic, with a special reference both to the archbishopric of Olomouc and especially to the episcopate and the person of the archbishop Leopold Prečan.
