Graduated in Modern Foreign Languages and Literature at La Sapienza University of Rome in 1987, was awarded a Ph.D degree at Cambridge University (U.K.) in 1995, with a dissertation on V.F. Malinovskii. During the academic years 1995-2000 taught Russian literature at the University of L’Aquila. From February 2000 to September 2019 was Researcher in Russian at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. Obtained the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor for the sector 10/M2 (2012 edition). Associate Professor in 2019.
From 2001 to 2009 was member of the Collegio Docenti of the Doctorate in “Filologia e letterature comparate dell’Europa Centro-Orientale” of the University “La Sapienza”; was member of the Scientific Committee of the Master in Specialized Translation organized by the same university, and member of the Association of Italian Slavists.
Research interests: Eighteenth century culture, myth of Don Juan in Russia, travel literature, early Nineteenth century prose, women literature, poetry of the Twentieth century, translation studies, the work of Mikhail Kuzmin e di Andrei Platonov. Currently engaged in projects focused on the work of Marina Cvetaeva and Boris Pasternak. She was awarded the “Lilec” Prize (University of Bologna) for Poetry in Translation in 2016, the “National Prize for Translation” (Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism) in 2017, the Achille Marazza Prize for Translation and the Benno Geiger Prize for poetica translation in 2019.
