CURRENT ROLE
Associate Professor of Ancient Topography (Group 10A1, L-Ant/09) at the Department of Humanities and Cultural Heritage (DiLBEC) of the University of Campania ‘Luigi Vanvitelli’, from 19/12/2019, where she currently carries out her research and teaching activity, holding the Chair of Ancient Aerotopography and Archaeological Remote Sensing and that of Surveying and Technical Analysis of Ancient Monuments.

LINES OF RESEARCH
Since her first research, she has carried out topographical studies aimed at the reconstruction of ancient road routes in Campania (the Via Appia in particular) and Southern Lazio and at the organization of the territories connected to them, making use of traditional and innovative methodologies typical of the topographical discipline.
In particular, she has been dedicated for years to the development and application of non-invasive archaeological investigation methods such as archaeological photointerpretation, targeted photogrammetry, remote sensing, Lidar and data management (SIT, GIS and BIM), applying them to topographic themes, following the most recent developments.
Her interest in the technical analysis of data comes from an in-depth knowledge of the survey and remote sensing methodologies of excavations, monuments, building complexes, cities in Lazio and Campania (among the main ones Norba (LT), Capua and Calatia (CE) , Abellinum (AV), Caudium (BN)), refined at laboratories and national cartographic production bodies at the forefront in the sector of finalized aerophotogrammetry and management of geographical-territorial information and at the Laboratory of Finalized Aerophotogrammetry, now of Ancient Topography , of its own Department, coordinating, since 2008, its aerotopographic research.
She is dedicated to the development of preventive archeology maps and the drafting of the Archaeological Map of Northern Campania, with published research on specific territorial areas and thematic insights (Caudina, Abellana, Tifatina, Irpina, Beneventana areas).
She has numerous publications in A-level scientific journals relating to ancient cities (such as Abellinum (AV) and Norba (LT)) for which she has carried out research, also with coordination roles, in the context of excavation campaigns.
In relation to these contexts, she provided a critical reading of the complexes and their urban topographical contextualization, the analysis of construction techniques, urban roads, private construction, also in relation to new forms of assisted use and augmented reality.
Again, with reference to the analysis of monuments, the scientific and editorial activity also focused on extra-urban buildings (funeral and bridge architecture) and on fortified high-altitude settlements, investigated both with archaeological excavations for which she was scientific director, and through innovative methodologies and techniques for non-invasive investigation of monuments.
Alongside the more strictly topographical lines of research indicated so far, there are published studies relating to material culture thanks to agreements with museum structures and with the competent bodies (funerary objects and museum collections) also carried out with innovative archaeometric approaches.
She also has particular interest in the interdisciplinary aspects of research, collaborating with geologists, computer engineers and physicists, with results resulting from research projects promoted by MIUR (FIRB), by her own University (PRIST) and by agreements and conventions with other Institutions (CNR-ITABC; CNR_IGAG), published in conference proceedings, articles in scientific journals and volumes, also edited by her.
In continuity with her lines of research, in relation to traffic issues, she is currently engaged in the drafting of further supplements to the archaeological map of Campania dedicated to ancient cities of northern Campania and some rural vici with thematic insights (diachronic reconstruction of the organization agriculture of the territory, urban forms and functions, private and public monumental architectural complexes, ancient urban and extra-urban road structure, with particular attention to the reconstruction of the route of the Appian Way, its infrastructures and branches). Similarly, in southern Lazio she carries out topographical research aimed at reconstructing the mountain roads in the Aurunca area and the monuments connected to it.
She has more than eighty publications to his credit, among books, chapters of books and articles, national and international, published in large part in magazines of type A, and is volumes curator.
