First year
Frontal teaching activities, common to all the curricula:
1) neuroscience seminars (Neurowebinars), networked with doctoral and postgraduate courses from different universities (about 3 seminars per week): 8 UFC/year
2) Curriculum-specific courses and seminars: 2 UFC/year.
Research Activities:
1) To be performed in outpatient clinics, laboratories and/or clinical departments, under the guidance of mentor faculty: 10 UFC/year

Research-related activities: laboratory activities, collection and review of scientific literature, discussion of articles published in international journals relevant to the research activity of the doctoral student, synthesis and discussion of open issues of the possible lines of research of the various curricula.
Neurowebinars: is an inter-university and interdisciplinary, didactic and editorial network initiative, aimed primarily, but not exclusively, at doctoral students in neuroscience and related disciplines, specialists and residents in neurology, psychiatry and child neuropsychiatry, clinical psychology and neuropsychology of the national territory. Distinguished researchers and clinicians present a one-hour evening seminar in the form of a webinar.
Ways to choose the thesis subject
The choice of the thesis will be shared between the tutor and the doctoral student through interviews and will be selected within the proposals of the College of Teachers of the Curriculum of belonging.
Modalities of tests for admission to the following year
Admission to the following year will take place through the evaluation of the initial status of the chosen research and on the basis of the activity carried out and the research products of the doctoral student (presentation of the project and any publications).


Second year

Activities related to the research: laboratory activities, ongoing activities of the research project: evaluation and recruitment of subjects included in the research according to the criteria established in the first year, any corrections to the experimental design and / or methods on the critical issues encountered, interdisciplinary discussion of clinical cases, experimental data collection, issues related to statistical processing

Thesis preparation methods
Performance of selected research in the first year under the guidance of the faculty member/tutor with progressive increase in design independence. Frequent interactions with the tutor including contributions to the design of the study, preliminary drafting of methods, verification of data and elaboration of scientific manuscripts.
Testing procedures for admission to the following year
Admission to the following year will take place through the evaluation of the PhD student's research project in progress and on the basis of the activity carried out and the PhD student's research products (presentation of the project and any publications).


Third year.
Frontal teaching activities, common to all the curricula:
1) neuroscience seminars (Neurowebinars), networked with doctoral and graduate programs at several universities (approximately 3 seminars per week): 6 UFC/year
2) curriculum-specific courses and seminars: 1 UFC/year
Research Activities:
1) To be performed in outpatient clinics, laboratories and/or clinical departments, under the guidance of mentor faculty: 13 UFC/year

Research-related activities: laboratory activities, discussion of articles published by other research groups relevant to the ongoing research of doctoral students.

Admission modalities to the final exam
Evaluation of the thesis on the research project by two evaluators external to Sapienza who propose the admission of the thesis to the Board of teachers or the postponement up to a maximum of 6 months if they consider necessary integrations or corrections. Evaluation of the scientific productivity of the doctoral student.

Procedure for the final examination
Oral presentation of the doctoral thesis and collegial discussion with external reviewers.
