Research: Social Representations of HIV/AIDS and career paths: the case of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) in Yaoundé

My name is  Noëlle Tchatchou, and I am a third-year PhD student in Social work at the University of Ottawa, with a cotutelle program at Sapienza University of Rome. My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in  Sociology, followed by a Master’s degree in public health.
My doctoral research focuses on the social representations of HIV in Cameroon, particularly examining the barriers individuals face in accessing and maintaining employment. Through a qualitative lens, this research sheds light on the intersections of stigma, socioeconomic realities, and workplace dynamics, with the goal of informing more inclusive employment policies and practices.
