Phd in PHD SCHOOL OF ARCHAEOLOGY

Research:

I am a PhD student in Classical Archaeology and my research aims at analysing the villas along the coasts of Latium, Campania and Etruria (Regiones augustee I and VII) in order to arrive at a proposal for the reconstruction of the main monuments and coastal residential landscapes between the late Republican age and the late Imperial Age.

My main research interest lies in ancient landscapes and monuments from the Roman age, in the complexity of their topographical and architectural transformations over time. I am particularly interested in residential and thermal contexts.
Of further interest to me is the development and application of archaeological research methodology in excavation, survey and context analysis.
As part of my research, I have developed skills in surveying using GNSS antenna, total station, photogrammetry and laser scanners.

I have been a member since 2023 of the research group directed by Dr. M. Ippoliti and engaged in the project "La scena dell’imperatore: organizzazione, comunicazione e percezione del potere" aimed at the analysis and reconstruction of architecture and urban landscapes in the context of the Imperial Palace, in order to study the relationships between the organisation of power, architecture and ideology. My assignment consists of survey activities, analysis and reconstruction of the architecture of the monument under investigation.

I have been a member since 2019 of the research group involved in the project "Architetture e paesaggi antichi di Castelporziano. Analisi archeologica del litorale laurentino in epoca romana", in agreement and collaboration with the Presidential Estate of Castelporziano. The assignment I carry out consists of survey activities, analysis and reconstruction of ancient topography and architecture of the monuments of the investigated context.

Since 2017, I have been a member of the research group directed by Prof. Maria Teresa D'Alessio and engaged in the excavation of the north-eastern slopes of Palatine Hill, where I hold the role of field manager.

Since 2017, I have been a member of the research group involved in the "Lazio Antico" project directed by Prof. Carafa, with the task of analysing and reconstructing the architecture of some of the main monumental complexes in the urban centres and territories of Latium.

Finally, I was a member of the research group directed by Prof. Carafa and engaged in the excavation at the north-western slopes of Palatine Hill, where I served as field supervisor from 2015 to 2017.

I graduated with honours in 2021 with a master's degree in Archaeology from Sapienza - Università di Roma with a thesis entitled: "La vila c.d. di Plinio a Castel Fusano. Analisi stratigrafica e ricostruzione architettonica".

I previously graduated with honours in 2017 with a Bachelor's degree in Archaeological Sciences from the same university with a thesis entitled: "Analisi archeologica e ricostruzione dei paesaggi antichi nel territorio di Aletrium".
