Biography
Nancy Eisenberg is a Regents' Professor in the Department of Psychology at Arizona State University. Her research interests include emotion-related regulation and relations with adjustment and socio-emotional competence; moral and emotional development: altruism, empathy: socialization and cultural factors in emotion regulation/dysregulation, adjustment, social competence, and prosocial responding; and developmental psychopathology.
Many undergraduate students work in the Eisenberg laboratory on longitudinal studies of social, emotional, psychological, and moral development in children, including children at risk for problems. Graduate students work on studies related to a variety of topics, such as the regulation of emotion, agreeableness and resiliency in children, the role of individual differences in emotionality and regulation in children's adjustment and social competence (in the U.S., China, Indonesia, and France), the socialization of empathy-related responding, and moral reasoning.
