RESEARCH FIELDS OF INTEREST

Hyperspectral Investigations, Flow and Transport in Porous Media, Experimental and Numerical Modelling of Atmospheric Boundary Layers Phenomena, Experimental Fluid Mechanics, Scalar Transport and Mixing

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Courses taught: Environmental Hydraulics, Fluid Mechanics, Hydraulics in Natural Systems, Hydrogeology and hydraulics applied to land management, Modeling groundwaters, Introduction to Matlab.
Advisor of several Thesis (corresponding to Batchelor and Master degrees), PhD Advisor.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

- Development of image analysis algorithms for environmental monitoring.
- Set-up of equipments for hyperspectral imaging from the laboratory to the field scale.
- Design and execution of fluid mechanics laboratory experiments, including homogeneous and heterogeneous porous media, convective flows, free surface currents.
- Development and use of computer image analysis techniques to measure flow fields in Lagrangian and Eulerian frameworks, dye evolution.
- Experience with several computing languages, i.e., FORTRAN, MATLAB, C, C++.
- Languages: English (fluent), French (basic), Italian (mother tongue).
- Development of numerical models for pollutant dispersion evaluation in the atmosphere, oceans and porous media.
- Presentation in more than 50 International Conferences.
