Research: Virtual sensing of an aeroelastic system
Work Experiences:
Siemens Digital Industries Software, Belgium
Internship, Thesis Project
Sep 2024 – Mar 2025
Internship focused on the development of Operational Modal
Analysis (OMA) and Model Updating criteria. Performed structural
testing on a scaled wind turbine model under operational condi-
tions using optical fibers and carried out dynamic structural simu-
lations using the corresponding finite element (FE) model.
Sapienza Flight Team
Team member, SUAS 2024 Project
Oct 2023 – Jun 2024
As part of the Sapienza Flight Team, I designed the aircraft fuse-
lage to balance aerodynamic efficiency, structural integrity, and
optimal internal component layout. I verified the structural perfor-
mance of the airframe using NASTRAN, modeling finite element
(FE) components for structural analysis, and evaluated its aerody-
namic properties using both panel method software and CFD sim-
ulations. I also manufactured the composite parts of the aircraft
and participated in the SUAS 2024 competition held in Maryland.
Formula SAE Fast Charge Team
Team Member
Oct 2019 – Sep 2023
During my time in the Formula Student team, two of my most
significant projects were the development of the car’s rear wing
and the design of the battery pack. For the rear wing, I focused
on aerodynamic optimization and subsequently dimensioned ap-
propriate supports through both CFD and structural analyses. The
second project involved designing the battery pack assembly in
CAD, managing the internal layout of components, and develop-
ing cooling channels for the battery modules using thermo-fluid
dynamic simulations.

Education summary:
During my five years at university, I specialized in structural en-
gineering through a wide range of activities that allowed me to
gain hands-on experience in design, simulation, and testing. I de-
veloped strong proficiency in software tools such as SolidWorks,
MATLAB, NASTRAN, and TESTLAB, covering various structural as-
pects including linear and nonlinear static analysis, modal and
buckling analysis, dynamics, and aeroelasticity. Working on mul-
tiple team-based projects, I also developed strong collaboration
and communication skills, learning how to effectively coordinate
within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to shared technical
goals.
