Micaela Liberti, received the M.Sc degree in electronic engineering and PhD from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy in 1995 and 2000, respectively. In 2002,and 2019 she became an Assistant Professor and Associate Professor with the Department of Electronic Engineering, Sapienza University.
She is currently Professor of "Electromagnetic Fields" for Clinical Engineering, Electromagnetic Fields and NanoSystems for Medical Applications "for NanoTechnology Engineering, Therapeutic Applications of Low Frequency Electromagnetic Fields" for Electrical Engineering, at the "La Sapienza" University of Rome. The research activity mainly concerns the bio-medical applications of electromagnetic fields, such as electrical and magnetic stimulation of the nervous system and electrochemotherapy; with particular regard to the mechanisms of interaction between EM fields and biological systems, microdosimetry, design of exposure systems and dosimetry on patients.
Dr. Liberti was the author and co-author of 75 scientific publications in peer review journals, and presented reports and lectures at numerous scientific congresses and conferences. Since 2004 he has participated in the courses of the EBEA Bioelectromagnetic School "Alessandro Chiabrera", both taking lessons and participating in the organization. Since 2008 she is a member of the Scientific Council of the European Bioelectromagnetics Association (EBEA), since 2019 she has been acting as President Elect In 2011 she was General Chair of the 10th International EBEA Congress held in Rome in February. From 2012 to 2016 she has been National Deputy Representative of the COST action TD1104: European network for development of electroporation-based technologies and treatments (EP4Bio2Med)

SINCE 2011- TODAY she has been SUPERVISOR of four PhD students (Cycle and Project):
1) XXVII Cycle, (2011–2014), Thesis: “Technological and theoretical studies of effects of ultra-short pulses on the biological system”;
2) XXVIII Cycle, (2012–2015) Thesis: “Electrical and magnetic stimulation of the central nervous system: identification of action mechanisms and optimization of applications”;
3) XXIX Cycle, (2013–2016), Thesis: “Computational modeling and measurements of electromagnetic fields for diagnostics and therapeutics”
4) XXXIII Cycle, (since 2017), Project: “Bioelectromagnetics: computational modeling of electromagnetic fields for therapeutics and diagnostics”
