Born in 1961, obtained a degree in physics with honours from the University of Rome “Sapienza” in 1987 with a thesis on speech recognition. He was consultant to several ICT companies in real-time software and hardware solutions and to judicial authorities in audio/speech forensic. He joined FUB in 1988 where he is actually a senior researcher. His research interests and expertise are in the field of audio and speech processing and in the evaluation and quality of systems and services for biometrics, for multimedia contents including broadcasting, for intelligent and interactive natural language processing. He participated in several European projects (e.g. COST, ESPRIT, FP, H2020) as well as national projects and in international activities (e.g. ITU, ETSI, 3GPP, EBU), having responsibility of technical tasks or as technical leader. He acts as member of many scientific committee, as reviewer of quoted journals and have more than 100 publications.
