Research: Relationships' writings. Comparison between Luigi Meneghello, Édouard Glissant and Salman Rushdie

Mattia Bonasia (Acquaviva delle Fonti, 1997) has achieved in 2019 with distinction the bachelor’s degree in Literature Music and Film at La Sapienza Università di Roma with a dissertation in Literary criticism and comparative literature entitled “Joycian elements in Cesare Pavese. Exile’s rethematisation through translation” (supervisor: Professor Franca Sinopoli). Here, through a hybrid methodology between thematic and translation studies, he has tried to demonstrate the structural importance of the Pavese’s translation of "A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man" in 1934 in his passage from poetry to prose. In 2021 he has achieved with distinction the master’s degree in Modern Philology, within a double degree between La Sapienza and Sorbonne Université de Paris, with a dissertation in Literary criticism and comparative literature (carried out in Paris thanks to a scholarship) entitled “Relationship’s writings. Comparison between Édouard Glissant and Luigi Meneghello starting from Collège de France’s Barthes” (supervisor: Professor Franca Sinopoli, exterior supervisor: Professor Romuald Fonkoua).
Currently he’s a Phd student in Italian studies at La Sapienza (XXXVII cycle) in co-tutorship with Sorbonne Université, with a research project which (starting from reflections elaborated during his master’s dissertation) intends to study critically the work of Luigi Meneghello and Salman Rushdie through the perspectives opened by the “relationship’s poetics” of Glissant.
He's part of the Sapienza research project "The 'foreign gaze' in European transcultural literatures and arts".
His research interests concern the theory of literature and comparative literature, with a focus on the contemporary international debate on the World Literature and the Littérature-monde, the theory of the novel, the cultural studies, the studies on literary transnationality and the translation studies.
He's published on "Novecento Transnazionale", "Studi e testi italiani", and in collections. He's partecipated to different international congress such as "ICLA Congress" (Tbilisi, 2022), "Compalit. L'autorialità polimorfica" (L'Aquila, 2022), "Transcultural Europe in the Global World" (Paris Nanterre, 2022). He's made part of various organizing committees: "9th ESCL Congress" (Roma, 2022), "L'autore e la critica: Luigi Meneghello nel centenario della nascita" (Roma, 2023), "ENN7" (Monopoli, 2023), e "Transculturalità: un concetto operativo in Europa?" (Roma, 2022). He has collaborated to the publishing of the homonyms conference proceedings (Roma, Lithos, 2023).
