Mary Wardle is Associate Professor of English Language and Translation Studies at Sapienza University of Rome where she is also course leader for the Teacher Training courses in English, French and Spanish. 

Recent and forthcoming publications include book chapters and articles on the English translations of the works of Primo Levi in a volume on Translation Studies and Memory Studies (Routledge); Primo Levi retranslated (Peter Lang); Dance Notation and Translation (Bloomsbury); Embodied Translation (World Literature Studies); Beryl de Zoete, dance ethnography and embodied practice (Palimpsestes); The National Covid Memorial Wall as a Translation Site in a volume on Experiential Translation (Routledge); Intralingual translation between varieties of English (Benjamins); translingual identity in Jhumpa Lahiri (Springer) (Peter Lang); Translation and Accessibility with specific reference to modernised versions of Shakespeare (European Journal of English Studies).
She is currently working on a monograph on translations published in bi- and multi-lingual editions (Routledge).
