Research: Covignano (RN) and southern Romagna from the late Bronze Age to the establishment of Ariminum (268 BCE): material culture and mobility dynamics of a “frontier” territory

PhD student in Archaeology - curriculum of Etruscology, XL cycle

My doctoral project aims to address the systematic study of material culture from the Covignano context, located in the hills behind the city of Rimini. This is a long-standing context that is a key center for Iron Age communication routes and is, to this day, the subject of debate regarding cultural attribution due to the fact that it is located in an area considered to be on the frontier between territories traditionally attributed to the Umbrians, Etruscans and Picenes.
