The comic roles in the Italian theater between the nineteenth and twentieth century.
The research aims to outline a synthesis of the comic roles in traditional Italian theater, focusing in particular on the role of the brilliant. It also wants to understand the problems of repertoire, analyze the actor's dramaturgical practices and verify everything that favors the aspect of continuity in the actor's work. By analyzing the sources closest to us, those of the heirs, we can hypothesize that the roles continue to survive through their characters ideally uniting actors of different generations. By cross-referencing the hereditary characters with the chronicles of the time, it is possible to frame the brillante within a unified repertoire.
