Mariella Pazzaglia, is Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology of the Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) and awarded the National Scientific Qualification as Full Professor. She coordinates the Clinical Neuroscience Laboratory in the Department of Psychology and the Body and Action LAB at the IRCCS S. Lucia Hospital of Rome. Over the past 15 years, she has developed a deep interest in the emerging field of Clinical Neuroscience, focusing primarily on understanding how individuals respond to experiences of the body and action. Her research involves the use of multimodal, non-invasive neuromodulation tools to improve neurophysiological and behavioral functions in both healthy subjects and patients (spinal and brain damaged). She cooperated with several research groups in Italy, Switzerland, England, and USA. Her studies on neural basis of action in brain damaged patients and bodily sensations in spinal cord injured patients has been published in many peer-reviewed publications including Current Biology, Neuron, and The Journal of Neuroscience, Trends in Cognitive Sciences, Behavioral Brain Science, Physics Life Review. She has been awarded grants from the MIUR, SEED, and EU-funded projects, SWISS International Foundation for Research in Paraplegia, Italian Ministry of Health. She is a Member of the Editorial Board of Scientific Reports, Plos one, Journal of Clinical Medicine, PeerJ. Since 2010, she held the courses of Neuropsychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Neuroscience in Forensic Contexts at Master Degree level at the Department of Psychology, Sapienza University and Wuhan University in China. As a supervisor, she provided guidance and mentorship to over 100 students ranging from undergraduate to PhD level, also supporting the careers of numerous postdoctoral fellows.
