Degree in Historical Linguistics, obtained with full marks in 1998 at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (title of the graduation thesis: "Grassmann's Law reconsidered in light of the new acquisitions of Indo-European Studies"). PhD in "Linguistics", obtained with full marks at the University of Pisa in June 2003 (title of the dissertation "Case syncretism from reconstructed Indo-European to archaic Latin: formal and functional aspects). She has given lectures and advanced seminars in general and historical linguistics, since 1998 (University of Rome "La Sapienza", LUMSA, Università della Tuscia). Since 2008 she is researcher in Historical Linguistics at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", and, since 2010, she is member of SIG ("Società Italiana di Glottologia"). She has obtained the National Academic Qualification as Associate Professor in 2013 and 2018. She has taken part, holding speeches, to several national and international scientific conferences. She has studied abroad and she has been part of many Research Projects (FIRB, PRIN, COFIN etc.). Her research interests focus on historical linguistics, Indo-European phonology (with a particular reference to consonantism), Latin and Greek nominal morphology and Greek-Anatolian linguistic interference during the 2nd millennium B.C. The recent research in the Anatolian field led in 2011 to the publication of a book about the Hittite writing system and the phonological problems connected with Sturtevant’s Law. This research field is the starting point for a methodological investigation on the linguistic interference between Greek and Anatolian at different levels, including writing and phonology, with a particular focus on languages and writing systems in the Eastern Mediterranean area between II and I millennium B.C., which are the which are the main topics of her second book. She has worked in the field of Indo-European etymology advancing hypotheses also in the light of the interpretations offered by the theoretical framework of cognitive linguistics. Recently her interests have turned again to Greek phonology and morphophonology and she has then deepened issues such as the typological evaluation of Hittite adjective formations and phonaesthesia.
