Education
2013: Classical baccalaureate final grade 100/100 at the classical high school Diodato Borrelli
2018: Pre-graduate internship in clinical analysis laboratory with acquisition of microbiological techniques (culture tests , bacterial identification, microbiological investigations on biological samples and antibiogram techniques)
2018: Bachelor in Biological Sciences at the University of Calabria ; Thesis title: "Role of the intestinal microbiota in autoimmune diseases"
2022: Master’s Degree in Biology and Cellular Technologies at the Sapienza- University of Rome with final grade 108/110; Experimental Thesis in Immuno-oncology, Department of Immunology of Tumors, National Health Institute , Thesis title: "Analysis of interactions between dendritic cells and melanoma cells modulated by epigenetic drugs"
Soft skills: PBMC separation from healthy donor, differentiation of dendritic cells from monocytes, cultures and maintenance of melanoma cell lines, staining with fluorochromes, MTS, apoptosis and migration assays, scratch assay.
2023: phD in Life Sciences at Sapienza-University of Rome
Research Project: “Development of "organ-on-chip" systems to study the interactions between immune and tumor cells in response to pharmacological treatments”
Objectives: To study the interactions between immune and tumor cells in response to drug treatment in a 3D microenvironment to improve the development of precise and effective anticancer immune therapies.
Expected results: This project will promote the development and the implementation of a 3D tumor-on-chip suitable to evaluate immune-cancer cell cross-talk and the efficacy of anti-tumor treatments in terms of immune response induction.
If the hypothesized experimental plan leads to significant results, a future prospect could be to use tumor and immune cells obtained from patients.
