Maria Elisa Crestoni graduated in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology (with honors) in 1986 at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", where she obtained the Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1991 under the guidance of Prof. Fulvio Cacace. She carried out research periods as a visiting researcher in 1993 at the laboratories of Prof. H.-F-Grutzmacher at the University of Bielefeld (Germany) and in 1997 at the laboratories of Prof. J. R. Eyler of the University of Florida, Gainsville; as a visiting professor in 2014 at the Ecole Polytechnique, Palaiseau (France) and in 2016 at the ISMO and CLUPS centers (Center Laser de l'Université de Paris Sud), at the Université Paris-Sud, Orsay (France). Researcher at the University of Rome from 1991 to 2001, associate professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry from 2001 to 2018, she is full professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry since 2018. She is director of the II level Master in Radiopharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies from 2012. She was a participant and responsible for several Italian research projects funded by the European Union at the CLIO (Laser Infrarouge d'Orsay Center), FELIX (The Netherlands) and within the EU-FT-ICR_MS, European Network of Fourier-Transform Ion-Cyclotron -Resonance Mass Spectrometry Centers (Horizon 2020). Her research interests are focused on the study of the reactivity and gaseous structure of ionic systems of (bio)inorganic relevance by using mass spectrometry (FT-ICR) and vibrational spectroscopy (IRMPD).
