Marco Petrangeli Papini
He graduated with honors in Industrial Chemistry in 1990 and PhD in "Chemical Sciences" in 1994. He is currently Full Professor of the scientific disciplinary sector ING-IND / 25, "Chemical Plants", at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Rome "Sapienza" where he holds the course of "Chemical Processes and Plants" (bachelor’s in chemical sciences) and "Dynamics of Pollutants and Restoration of Polluted Sites" (Master degree in Industrial Chemistry). He is currently the coordinator of the Master's Degree program in Industrial Chemistry. He carries out research activities mainly in the field of study and development of processes and technologies for the reclamation of contaminated soils and groundwater. He is the author in this field of over 80 scientific publications in magazines and books with international distribution and over 80 communications at national / international conferences. He is co-owner of 5 patents concerning water purification and remediation of contaminated sites. He is Director, from the academic year 2010/2011, of the II Level Master Course in "Characterization and Technologies for the Reclamation of Polluted Sites" of the University of Rome "La Sapienza"; from February 2010 to December 2015, he was a member of the Technical Committee at the Ministry for the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea as an expert in the area of reclamation. He became member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences in Moscow since 2017 as a "foreign member" with specific reference to the experience in the management of contaminated sites. Prof. Marco Petrangeli Papini is and has been coordinator of numerous projects and operational units of both national and international research with reference to the remediation of polluted sites with the application of combined chemical / physical and biological processes for in situ treatment of aged sources of contamination.
