Academic position. In 2000 he graduated as Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology, Ph.D. (XXII cycle), with a thesis titled "Individual Differences in the judgment of probability ambiguous and risk taking in experimental tasks of decision-making." Postdoctoral research in Psychometrics (M-PSI/03) from 1/6/2001 to 31/5/2003 at the Department of Development and Socialization Processes, University of Rome "La Sapienza". Attained a full-time research position in Psychometrics (M-PSI/03) and took service on 1/1/2005 at University of Rome "La Sapienza". Later, he attained scientific qualification as Associate Professor (M-PSI/03), and takes service the day 11.01.2006, leading to the subsequent confirmation in the role one 1/11/2009. He currently teaches "Measuring Health and Quality of Life", in the Psy. D. program in Clinical Psychology at the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology, "Sapienza".

Scientific Interest. The research lines of Prof. Lauriola Marco are mainly focused on the construction, validation and application of psychometric instruments in two different areas of general psychology, including the psychology of decision-making processes and personality. He also carried out research on the applications of mathematics and statistics in the analysis of psychological data and the classical test theory (verifying the reliability and validity of the test). In detail, continuing his studies related to the doctoral dissertation, has produced: a) original contributions in the study of cognitive processes related to the judgment of probability and risk perception through a psychometric approach based on objective evidence and measures of economic behavior. b) In parallel, he studied the contribution of personality traits related to decision making in risky decisions, with particular reference to behavioral risk tasks and the interaction with experimental paradigms of manipulation of the framing and the preference reversals. c) The interest in the study and measurement of individual differences extend to personality traits related to safety hazards for adolescents, adults and elderly people. This line of research has begun before the graduate school and has produced across the entire scientific career relevant publications in Personality Psychology and Psychometrics Journals. d) Last, he has produced publications related to the application of the techniques of data analysis for the construction and validation of psychometric instruments in different areas of psychological research and the measurement of quality of life, both as an author and as co-author. Throughout the entire scientific production, including its work in collaboration, it is clear the interest of Prof. Lauriola for the application of standard multivariate techniques, such as exploratory factor analysis, and advanced, structural equation modeling and generalized estimating equations. Referee for several national and international journals, including European Journal of Personality, Personality and Individual Differences, Sex Roles, International Journal of Psychology, Review of General Psychology, Psychological Acta, is part of the 'Editorial Board of the Journal of Behavioral Decision Making.

Teaching activities. Since 2002 he has taught various yearly teaching contracts at the University of Rome as well as at two different universities in Italy. In particular, for three consecutive years (2002-2004) taught Psychological Assessment, at the University of L'Aquila, Faculty of Education. In 2003 he also taught Psychological Research Methods and Data Analysis at the University "G. D''Annunzio" of Chieti-Pescara, Faculty of Psychology. In addition, he taught Statistical Methods in Psychology at University of Rome "La Sapienza". After he took service as full-time researchers the aforementioned yearly teaching contract was extended for three years. After he took service as full-time Associate Professor, he taught Fundamentals of Psychometrics in Bachelor Psychology programs and Measuring Health and Quality of Life in Psy. D. Member of the Board of the Doctorate of Research in Social Psychology, he has held various teaching methodologies for the students of the Department. Psychology of Development and Socialization Processes and Department of Clinical and Dynamic Psychology. In addition, two students Tutor: Dr. Angelo Panno (XXV cycle) and Dr. Oriana Moscow (XXVII cycle). Finally, plays regularly teaches basic characteristic and professionalizing at the School of Specialization in Psychological Evaluation and Consulting (Counselling) of the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology, where he was also vice-director for three years.
