Thesis title: In the Space of Struggles. In the Age of Crisis. Participation, Utopia and alter-institutionality in Art and Theatre From 1968 To The Warming Condition

This dissertation examines a number of case studies (mainly European and Noth American) pertaining to theater and visual arts. There are three aspects on which the analysis, in particular, focuses. Participation, utopia and alter-institutional practices. The cases refer back to a "minor" geneaology of radical experiences, straddling art and activism. The three key-concepts are analyzed in light of the dialectic between commons and neoliberalism, framing contemporary neoliberal dispositifs of valorization in the context of the general response to the movements of 1968 and the 1970s. Finally, historical research serves to identify some lines of flight drawn by authors, artists and curators in the present.
