Thesis title: Circular Economy e transizione Green ecologica e climatica: Impatti e produttività di modelli circolari e collaborativi di gestione urbana, architettonica e tecnologica finalizzati alla transizione ecologica e alla decarbonizzazione delle città
In the context of the current ecological and climate crisis, cities play a central role in redefining models of production, consumption and resource management. It is within urban systems that both environmental challenges and opportunities for ecological transition are most intense. Despite growing interest in the circular economy, concrete applications in cities often remain fragmented, limited to local experiments, lacking systemic integration and poorly rooted in the space. This thesis addresses this disconnect between circular models and urban structures, proposing the neighbourhood as a strategic intermediate scale for the implementation of circular strategies. Through a process that combines theoretical, regulatory and comparative analysis, the work defines a tool to support the environmental technology design of circular neighbourhoods, with the aim of combining resource flows, spatial configurations and technological systems. The tool developed is divided into three main levels: a repertoire of circular strategies, a taxonomy of proximity and intermediate spaces, and a set of adaptable technical components. Through their integration, these spaces are reinterpreted as circular spaces, i.e. enabling places where circular economy strategies can be concretely activated.
