MAIN RESEARCH FIELDS
Dr. Di Marcotullio's expertise and qualification in several fields of research are:
- Role of ubiquitination and proteolysis processes in development and tumorigenesis.
- Identification and characterization of miRNAs in controlling Hedgehog signaling pathway and medulloblastoma e/o neuroblastoma tumorigenesis; identification and characterization of microRNA as biomarkers and co-adjuvant treatment for cancer and genetic disease
- Characterization of the molecular events involved in brain tumorigenesis mainly focusing on medulloblastoma and dysregulated pathways (i.e. Hedgehog/Gli) controlling progenitor cell development.
- Identification and design of novel molecular drugs effective in the treatment of Hedgehog-dependent tumors.
